Join Editor of Birding magazine, author, and birder Ted Floyd as he shares stories and birding field craft tricks —with an emphasis on the “whole bird” approach that encourages us to watch birds in a broad ecological context. Birds are an essential component to in our native ecosystems, and learning how to identify them, and understand their important relationship to the diversity of our local wildlife enhances our search and enjoyment of these feathered friends. This evening presentation is a kick-off to the two-day field class on Thursday and Friday when you get to experience the birding field craft first hand. This evening program is STRONGLY encouraged for those participating in our two-day field workshop. This class requires advance registration to ensure appropriate planning for the field experience. We STRONGLY encourage workshop participants to attend Wednesday evening’s Lecture.
