Global Song & Movement Workshop w/ Leah Song of Rising Appalachia Sunday, December 8th | 2:00pm-4:00pm True Nature's Sacred Kiva $75 Workshop Only, $108 Workshop & Concert Leah Song’s vocal workshops explore sound vibration and body movement as tools for self-awareness. The space is created to help each participant to embody the physical art of making sound from all the many resonators in the body. This workshop utilizes the expressions through movement and music using a variety of techniques including vocal contact improv, creative sound improvisations, group harmonics, singing techniques and movement (drawing upon yoga, mindfulness, and modern dance). Come, Participate and learn to create your own sound palate! Bio: Leah Song is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumental musician, storyteller, poet, and activist known for her role as front woman in Rising Appalachia, with her sister Chloe Smith, incorporating sultry vocals, rhythm, banjo, guitar, ballads, dance, spoken-word and storytelling into her work. Song engages in social activism and is involved with environment, food justice, human rights and prison reform. Her music is based in the traditions of Southern soul and international roots music.
