Studio Performance & Presentation with Melissa Toogood

Dance Initiative will be hosting an informal viewing of works by Melissa Toogood during this free studio presentation at The Launchpad. Toogood is a "New York Dance" and "Bessie Performance" award winning performer and former member of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. Dance Magazine named her in their "25 to watch in 2014" and featured her in the inaugural episode of "Behind the Curtain." Toogood will perform a solo by NYC choreographer Pam Tanowitz and will also share a film segment of "CUNNINGHAM 3D," a 3D cinematic experience about legendary American choreographer Merce Cunningham directed by Alla Kovgan. Toogood performs in this film alongside Rashaun Mitchell, a recent Dance Initiative Artist In Residence. A Q & A will follow.
