Sweet Jessup & The Dirty Buckets Album Release Party

SWEET JESSUP and the Dirty Bucket’s debut album synthesizes the vibe of what you are going to get at a live show–syncopated folk blues fun, light-hearted lyrics, and an unpredictable modern barn stomp. The song “God Damn” is a fiery commentary, while “Interstate Gospel Fate”takes us down the road of long distance love and untimely car trouble. “Drink this in” celebrates the organic panoply of life and “Flibbertygibbets,” well…should we really say more? Dive into this album to celebrate, sing, laugh at, and reflect on our tragic beautiful flaws.

Nine songs riff on the modern experience with a contemporary folk, perspective and an indie sensibility and “new timey” in nature–acoustic guitar, singing saw, cornet, bucket drums, cheeky lyrics, violin, and bass.

Recorded at Cool Brick Studios, the band collaborated with a variety of local musicians to bring a full-bodied aroma to the album. Pat Fagan adds deep accents with his euphonium. Jodi Henderson lightens things up with her playful clarinet. Sweet Jessup’s show this year will be one of their best as they bring three years stylized collaboration, jams, and original tunes to make you shimmy shake with their gritty folk story telling and acoustic blue driven mountain rag tunes.

Sweet Jessup & The Dirty Buckets have one trashy jam sound. Literally, the percussionist plays old used buckets and thrift store treasures. Bluesy, groovy, folksy, clanky, and dancy, Sweet Jessup draws inspiration from American root blues, folk, and ragtime traditions. We play all original songs that are catchy, fun, and upbeat.
