Carbondale Chamber & Tourism Part-Time Summer Position – Visitor Outreach & Member Services

 
Position Overview:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, reliable individual to represent the Carbondale Chamber and Tourism at the Carbondale Farmer’s Market during the summer season.
 
This is a part-time, non-exempt position responsible for setting up and managing our booth, engaging with visitors and Chamber members, sharing local information, and promoting Carbondale-branded merchandise.
 
This position runs Wednesdays from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (7 hours/week), from June 3 through August 26, and reports directly to the President/CEO.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and break down the booth (including a 10x10 tent, table, and display materials)
• Welcome and engage with market visitors and Chamber members
• Provide friendly and informative details about Carbondale and the surrounding area
• Sell merchandise, manage inventory, and process payments (including handling petty cash)
• Restock promotional materials and products as needed
• Support the President/CEO with additional Chamber- and Tourism-related tasks as needed

 
What We’re Looking For:

• Friendly, outgoing personality with a love for customer service
• Solid knowledge of the Carbondale area
• Familiarity with the Carbondale Chamber and its members is a bonus
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
• Must be comfortable with light physical tasks (tent set-up, lifting boxes, etc.)
• References will be requested

 
Compensation:
$23–$25/hour, based on experience
