Job Description Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, the Glenwood Springs Young Adult Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, launching, and operating the new Stepping Stones young adult drop-in center in Glenwood Springs for ages 15-24. Responsibilities include supervising participants and drop-in programs, facilitating and planning experiential learning activities, offering in-school supports, program-specific case management, crisis response services and coordinating volunteer involvement in the program. The Glenwood Springs Young Adult Program Coordinator will also be responsible for supporting the organization in program promotion, fundraising events, and completing projects as assigned by the Assistant Director. This position requires an energetic, creative, and flexible individual who possesses self-confidence, patience, is bilingual in Spanish and English and has excellent organizational skills. This individual must be dedicated to supporting youth development and fostering health and wellbeing in youth and the community. NOTE: If currently enrolled in a degree program in a related field, hours, responsibilities and schedule can be temporarily negotiated. Duties and Responsibilities ? Develop and implement innovative positive youth development programming for young adults (15 - 24 years old) responding to participant needs and strengths ? Manage youth drop-in programming and facility, adhering to schedule (school year 3-6 pm; summer 12-5 pm) ? Build positive mentoring relationships with youth; maintain caseload 10-15 of mentored/case managed youth ? Offer in-school services, including support/affinity groups, mentoring, advocacy, and coordination with school administrators, counselors and staff ? Coordinate and lead monthly experiential activities (recreational, outdoor, arts, service learning) ? Provide case management and crisis response supports to youth and families, requiring occasional night/weekend response for emergent needs ? Recruit teens and young adults to the Stepping Stones youth drop-in center; manage registration forms and processes ? Cultivate supportive working relationships with community-based organizations, recreation and nonprofit agency partners, and school personnel ? Maintain communication with the Assistant Director regarding program development, activities, operations, and implementation ? Collect data and required documentation (registration, attendance, mentoring/case management, goals, linkages, etc.) ? Maintain communication with parents regarding young adult involvement ? Supervise young adults ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all Required Qualifications ? Bilingual Spanish/English required ? Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university and/or four years experience working directly with youth or young adults ? Must be able to work evenings and occasional weekends ? Self-motivated, able to work independently with indirect supervision; able to manage, organize and prioritize multiple tasks ? Experience working collaboratively with community organizations and stakeholders in a multicultural environment ? Ability to thrive in a high-energy, unpredictable, and flexible work environment ? Excellent problem solver; comfortable navigating challenging situations; calming presence in crisis ? Enjoys working with high school-aged youth ? Working knowledge of positive youth development, family dynamics, case management (preferred) ? Ability to pass a background check and have valid drivers license ?
